The begining

Its been a few years since I last posted and a lot has happened. The short story is I finally met a wonderful man, we fell in love, got married and now we have a beautiful 6 month old daughter.

When I got pregnant I was literally the most excited I had ever been. I had everything that I had always dreamed of. Well except for the "Geriatric Pregnancy" title they give you.

I finally became a buyer for the company I had always wanted to work for, I had literally no morning sickness and everything was falling into place. Until the realization of daycare hit. Many don't know that when you plan to have children you should plan daycare as well. 2 months of searching high and low and we had nothing. Then one day I was working from home and I got a call, this call would change everything. In that call I was told that my position was no longer needed and I would have 30 days until my last day.

Needless to say I was devastated. I waited until my husband came home and I told him the news. He was ECSTATIC!! And I was terrified. It was that night it was decided that I would become a stay at home mom.

I had went to college, received my degree and worked as a buyer in some form for 18 years. How would I be a stay at home mom? So I did what any person coming out of corporate America would do. I looked for job descriptions. The only thing I found was blogs, articles and facebook groups about stay at home moms, ones from Minnesota others from across the seas, moms from the east and moms from the west. It was literally mom, mom, mom, mommy..... everywhere I googled.

After sometime I simply had myself a good cry, breathed and told myself I got this. After all I'd been changing diapers since I was about 7 and had watched my siblings raise perfectly healthy and normal kids. It has to be in my genes.

This is the simple start to my journey into Motherhood. I'm currently 6 months in and my tiny human is still alive. THANK GOD! And I've managed to do it all without a dula, midwife or home birth, I didn't breast feed 24/7, sleep training, car seats signs that read "your germs are too big for me please don't touch" or cloth diapers.

Stay tuned for the good, the bad and the ugly of parenting. Be warned, I'm super opinionated so if your feelings get hurt easily then this isn't the blog for you.
